Gouache Moustache

Lately, I've been playing around with gouache in my work. You might be thinking, what is gouache? Well, I was in your shoes several weeks ago and did my research. (Yes! I did wiki it!) From what I understand, gouache is a watercolor-like medium but the colors dry opaque. Thus, you can paint overtop of dark colors with light ones. Since I am new to this type of paint, I've been trying gouache out sporadically and decided to work the paint into my father's day card designs.

Recent Work: Children's Word Art Illustrations

I don't know about you but I have always loved words! There is something so special about a word and its innate ability to storytell. Even one single word has the capability to paint a picture and create a reaction. Thus, words have become my muse.

My children's word art illustrations are a play on my affinity for words. Each original illustration uses the words to create the body of the image. Look closely and you will find more that there is more than meets the eye!

Abstract Novice

5' abstract art piece that I created a few years ago after realizing that my oil paints were drying out in their tubes from lack of use. Although this was my first ever foray into the abstract art world, I have truly come to appreciate this form of painting and it has led me to experiment more with different forms of art.

More to come....
